Scars tell a story

I have many scars or marks on my body. Most of them came from falling down all the time as a child (I was super clumsy). Some as an adult due to childbirth. I also have scarring from really bad adult acne. I get that scars aren’t pretty to look at but they do tell a story. Just this weekend, I added a new scar to my vault of scars! lol. I was riding a bike with the Hubbs and stopped for a moment and decided to put the kickstand with my hand! Like who does that? :/ But now every time I see the scar, I will remember how painful it was but also the memory of when I hung out with my husband.

Many of us have some scars that aren’t visible to the eye but they are in our hearts. Maybe it’s the scar of abuse, abandonment, rejection, loss or betrayal. We become embarrassed to share our stories with others because, in some odd way, we think it’s our fault. We close ourselves up and never share our process. There are people waiting to hear the stories of our scars!

When I look at where I use to be to where I am now, I’m in awe of God. I know it was only Him to take me out of certain situations. I was kept with the scars but it’s a reminder of what God has healed and where He has taken me out of. I am not ashamed to show them, to tell others about them. We can help others heal by sharing our stories. We can remind them that they are not alone in this fight. So, show your scars, don’t hide them. Wear them as proof that God heals. Share your story with others and don’t be ashamed.
