Change is scary

Change is scary. At least for me, it is. I am in a season right now where there is change going on all around me. My kids are getting older and two of them are in their teens 😩 I feel like just the other day they were 1 and 2 years old. Wow. Time flies. I’m getting closer to my 40’s! And things are definitely changing there! Lol. Changes in our business and ministry. This has been a season of change. And let me tell you, it hasn’t been easy. It probably has been one of the hardest seasons I’ve been in. I don’t do well with change. I like stability. I like comfort. I love order. When change begins to happen in our lives in all different directions, we get very uncomfortable. We feel as though things are out of order. Or things have to stay a certain way, so we can feel some sense of security right? Is this only me or can you relate as well? Gosh, it’s hard! Today it hit me. Instead of fighting against the change, why not embrace it. Why not enjoy the ride. When we begin to fight against the change going on, we become frustrated and upset. We have to tell our thoughts to relax. Our thoughts can feel like huge waves crashing inside us and just as Jesus calmed the storm, we have to tell the storms going on in our mind to be still! God is our peace. We find our peace in Him, not in our sense of stability. Changes happen all the time. And they are a good thing. We grow from change. We can either embrace it or run away from it. If we embrace it, we learn something from it and we grow. If we run away from it we will never get to see the wonderful victory that God has for us. With every change, there is a victory and a blessing. No matter what changes you may be facing, rest in knowing that we have a God who remains the same and who is stable. Lean in on knowing that God is the one who guides our lives.

Some truths to hold on to:

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”Proverbs 3:5-6

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”Romans 8:28

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”John 14:27
