Fear is the killer of dreams

alone man person sadness

Have you ever had a dream or something that you have always wanted to pursue and you begin to work at it, you write your plans out and you even ask people to help you pray about this. You are just so excited about this thing you’re about to venture out and do. It’s like a flower that’s blossoming into something beautiful.

Then all of a sudden, someone says something negative or maybe even those close to you say things like “that’s so weird” or “why are you even pursuing that” or “that’s not going to amount to anything”.

Many times we tell ourselves these things and that beautiful flower that was blossoming all of a sudden begins to shrivel up all because of the oldest trick the enemy has, something called FEAR!

The enemy creeps in and begins to throw these arrows of fear and instead of us combatting those arrows with the word of God, we accept the lies of the enemy.

You see he has been using fear for years. It’s what got Eve to eat the forbidden fruit, It was the fear of missing out. It was fear that drove Abraham to have a child with another woman, the fear of what if the promises of God is never fulfilled.

The enemy loves fear. He loves to throw fear at us, cause he knows, that if we are scared enough, we will become paralyzed by it and we will never fulfill our God-given destiny.

When you are actually walking out your purpose of course you will be scared, but the key thing is to keep going in spite of fear. Not allowing fear to paralyze you and stop you in your tracks.

Many times fear is effective in our lives because we truly haven’t trusted God with our lives and we haven’t been perfected in love.

We need to make sure that our trust is fully in the Lord and understand that His intentions towards us are for good. He’s a good God and wants nothing more than the best for us.

We have to understand that His love towards us is unconditional. He will never stop loving us.

If you feel like your dreams have died, it’s probably because you have allowed room for fear to kill them.

I will leave you with a few scriptures to declare over your life today. My prayer for you today is that as you read and declare these scriptures over your life, that the chains of fear will break off and that you will walk in freedom and in your purpose!

1.  “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” ~ Isaiah 41:10

2.  “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”  ~ Psalm 56:3

3.  “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” ~ Philippians 4:6-7

4.  “Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.” ~ John 14:27

5.  “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” ~ 2 Timothy 1:7

6.  “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” ~ 1 John 4:18
