What are you wearing?

hand faceless hat clothes

Have you ever worn your pain like a coat?

I have. We go through so many things in life and instead of casting that coat of pain off and putting on Christ, we cloth ourselves with our pain and we carry it around everywhere we go.

Pain is heavy and its uncomfortable. It’s like those big coats that are heavy and itchy lol, you ever had to wear one of those in the winter? They keep you warm, but they are super uncomfortable!

Christ came to cloth us with peace and love. Jesus doesn’t want us carrying our pain.

I am not saying to ignore your pain or ignore the hard situation that’s going on around you, however, we have to learn to leave it at the cross and not put it on.

We shouldn’t flaunt it either like it’s something to be proud of. Sometimes we even compete with who’s pain is worse! We shouldn’t be doing that.

Many of us are walking through painful seasons. Things that we do not understand. We have moments where we feel like we cannot go on.

But I want to remind you today to put on Jesus.

Cast off your pain on Him and let Him dress you with salvation and gladness.

Isaiah 61:10

I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, my soul will exult in my God; for He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

Allow God to turn your mourning into dancing.

Psalm 30:11

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness.

Today make a choice to loose those clothes of pain. Those clothes of hurt. Shake them off and put on the garment of praise instead. In that garment, you will find peace, love and joy. You will find forgiveness and salvation.

Let’s put on Jesus today.
